What do we do?

Lóa Music Lessons will help you get a good understanding of the instrument of your choice with a curriculum tailored just for you, regardless of your level. Using popular songs of different genres that you can choose yourself, you will learn how to strum and pluck, play chords, read notes or confidently sing out loud, while digging into music theory along the way. Everything you need in order to enjoy your instrument! 

Who can apply?

Anyone above age 8 can apply, regardless of what level you're on. Children younger than 8 who are already familiar with playing an instrument can enroll.

Where?

It doesn't matter where you're based, you can be anywhere in the world! Lessons are held via Zoom or Discord meetings in 40-45 minute sessions.

When?

Before you begin, we will agree on a schedule that works for both of us. You choose if you want to have lessons weekly or biweekly.

I'm based in Iceland, so my time zone is GMT+0 (EST+6). Therefore evening lessons outside of European time zones may be difficult depending on where you are, but I will do my best to accommodate your schedule. Just get in touch and I will be happy to find a day and time that works for you!

How much?

Lessons are held one-on-one, 50 USD/6.300 ISK for each lesson. All study materials needed are provided by Lóa Music Lessons and are included in the price. Check out Prices to learn more about package deals and special offers.

Do I bind myself to anything?

Not necessarily! I offer a two part introduction to the course with 50% off. After that, you can decide if you want to continue the course. You sign up for one month at a time, paying at the beginning of each month. For a discount you can sign up for six months, all on your terms.

I'm sorta interested, what now?

Umm, one final question... what's up with the bird?

Glad you asked, time for some trivia! Lóa is the Icelandic name for the European golden plover (Pluvialis apricaria) you commonly see around here in Iceland. It is mentioned in the traditional song Sá ég spóa, where its repetative singing is said to be a sign of spring coming. 

As such, I found it a fitting symbol of someone on their way to become a prospering musician. Be it singing or learning another instrument, repetition and practice make perfect. Also, it's super cute!
